Yin yoga is a movement that serves the dense connective tissues of the body that are so critical for our mobility, fluidity, and flexibility.

The long-held postures strengthen and hydrate the physical body to promote a balanced and harmonious flow of life-force energy through our internal energetic architecture.

A powerful antidote to stress, the practice encourages conscious, consistent relaxation to soothe the central nervous system and dissolve accumulated tensions. The longer holds of the postures create a safe space to train in observing the ever-changing stream of sensations, energy, thoughts, and emotions that trace through our inner spaces.

In Yin Yoga, our mat is our meditation cushion.

Staying present with our interior experience, we practice noticing, feeling, and welcoming everything just as it is. Encouraging a balance between action and rest, doing and non-doing, the practice helps reclaim our yin qualities as we soften inside and out and enhance our meditative awareness on the mat. We compassionately repattern the workings of the mind in ways that reaffirm our connection to the storehouse of joy within each of us.

Attending to our whole selves, the practice brings us into better balance and grows our natural ability to stay present for the magic and mystery available in each moment.
